In this page, I’m going to do a review of three movies that I watched in 2026. Here it is three movies that I watched.
- Crime 101

Dir: Burt Layton
Prod: Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Chris Hemsworth
Writ: Burt Layton & Don Winslow
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Corey Stoll, Nick Nolte, & Halle Berry
Crime 101 could be an excellent heist movie if the story weren’t all over the place. If it is in focus and committed to the story like “Heat” & “Den of Thieves”, Crime 101 could be a masterpiece. Turns out it is becoming a mishmash of “LA Confidential” mixed with “Heat”, and as a result, it lacks the action shootouts of “Heat” and investigation noir feeling of “LA Confidential”. All of the performances are great and from technical standpoint it is awesome. It just the movie confused what it wants to be.
My Rating: B-
2. Mercy

Dir: Timur Bekmambetov
Prod: Charles Roven, Timur Bekmambetov, Majd Nassif
Writ: Marco Van Belle
Cast: Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson, Annabelle Wallis, Chris Sullivan
I am not gonna lie. This movie is the first to 40 minutes, it is a riveting mystery-thriller until in the third act it becomes a silly and generic action movie, and oh my god, the twist and killer reveal is so stupid I cannot believe how the movie ended. Without Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson this movie will be “Meh” because none of the actors here is having good performances besides these two, and it seems they enjoyed it. What a disappointment, as someone who loves Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson this ain’t it.
My Rating: C+
3. People We Meet on Vacation

Dir: Brett Haley
Prod: Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen
Writ: Yulin Kuang, Amos Vernon, Nunzio Randazzo, Emily Henry
Cast: Emily Bader, Tom Blyth, Lukas Gage, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Molly Shannon, Alan Ruck
Wow Netflix. I am speechless. What a fun romance movie. This movie from start to finish is just a fun ride, know what it is and mixes the non-linear story like Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Magnolia” but for a rom-com. It is simple, it is funny, relatable, has great performances from Tom Blyth and Emily Bader (Wow, what a newcomer, my favorite since Monica Barbaro), and all of the cast are top-notch here. The technical is insane, I think this movie will make money and deserve a theatrical experience because this could be if it releases in the theaters, it could be, my favorite theatrical experience since last year’s “F1”. Is it flawless? No, it isn’t some of the pacing leading up to the third act is a bit rough, but I’m still enjoying it. New Jersey scene is “mwuah”, what a spectacle. Go watch it, guys, it is a fun movie and deserves this kind of budget, but it looks more expensive than any other “Blockbuster movie”.
